I would say these are the two most common questions we get regarding our DIY Hat Bar, so hopefully this helps answer those questions.
How does it work?
When you come in we give you a basket with the steps in green and the price sheet in the bottom. The first thing you do is choose your hat (We have adult and youth hats) and patches from our large selection of many colors and literally thousands of patches.
To help you decide on your hat color and patch choices we have templates available to help you lay them out and decide what you like best. We are also happy to help during the design process.
Once you have chosen your hat, patches, and accessories, you then take your choices to the cashier to be checked out then you take your patches and pin them onto your hat in the design that you would like them. After they are pinned we will then press them onto the hat for you. You can then accessorize with any chains or pins you have selected and then your all done! Another question we get asked often is how long does it take? The process can take as little as 15-30 min if you are pretty decisive about what you want and don’t take long on the design process, but we have had some people that can spend up to 3 hours taking their time looking through all the patches and designing and redesigning their hats. So how long it takes, is really up to you.
As far as the cost, that also kind of depends on each person. The base prices for hats and accessories are at the top of our pricing chart and then patches are priced according to their size. We charge the price inside the box that the patch most closely fits into with the exception of a few of our premium patches that have barcodes on the back.

Extra Large Patches: 1x$6
Large Patches: 1x$4
Medium Patches: 2x$3
Small Patches: 1x$2

Charms: 3x$1
Total Cost: $47
Another example of some pricing the above hat would be priced as follows:
Hat: $15
Extra Large Patches: 1x$6
Large Patches: 2x$4
Medium Patches: 0
Small Patches: 0
Chain: $8
